Faith Put Into Action

The mission of the Synod of Anglican Episcopal Churches of India is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to serve God's people through worship, ministry, education, mission and service.

PROCLAIM

Proclaiming the Gospel

The Synod is called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to make known the saving knowledge and healing grace of God.

To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To teach and preach the Word of God through the Holy Scriptures to all people.
To lead men and women to Christ in order that they may be saved.

WORSHIP & MINISTRY

Worship and Spiritual Ministry

The Synod seeks to provide a spiritual home where Christians may worship together in unity of spirit and where all people may encounter the grace of God.

To administer the Sacraments and provide a spiritual home for Christians seeking to worship in unity of spirit.
To administer the Sacraments and minister to all people within the historical expressions of Christian worship.
To respond to human need through loving service.

TRANSFORM

Transforming Society and Creation

The Christian mission extends beyond the Church into the life of society and the stewardship of God's creation.

To seek to transform unjust structures of society.
To safeguard the integrity of creation.
To sustain and renew the life of the earth.
To help develop the growth of churches throughout India.

UNITE & EQUIP

Uniting and Equipping the Church

The Synod seeks to strengthen the Church through unity, episcopal ministry, theological education, leadership development and mutual support.

To unite churches and bring them under Anglican Communion, in accordance with the Synod's stated constitutional aims.
To consecrate Bishops and ordain clergy, and provide marriage licences for the solemnization of marriages according to the Indian Christian Marriage Act.
To educate, equip and send people into the mission field and churches through theological education and degrees from Indian Theological University, a wing of the Synod of AECI.
To provide support, education, coordination and episcopal oversight to national churches, provinces, dioceses, parishes, missions, Bishops, clergy and laity affiliated with the Synod.
To foster cooperation and mutual support among all its affiliates.
